Penang Bridge Marathon 2008, ON or no ON?

For the past 2 years, I've been participating in the Penang Bridge Marathon (PBM). Early this year, I've already been telling myself that I'd buy myself a good pair of running shoes for use in PBM2008. The pair of sport shoes I have now is not in good condition anymore. I've even decided on which brand of shoes to buy.

Disappointed I have been when the news that PBM2008 was canceled. The announcement was made in May and the reason given was that it was unsafe for marathon runners as the bridge is now under construction. Another reason was because the lack of fund/sponsorship.

But now seems like there might be hope that PBM2008 will still go on. Penang Govt plan to take over the marathon from the previous organizer. Read the article from The Star here.
