Windy night

Chinese New Year is just around the corner. Usually around this time, the weather would be hot and stuffy. This year however, it is little different. For the past 2 weeks, I experienced strong wind at night The wind even produces loud sound, no rain though. It would be very cold in the morning. But in the day time, the sun is still as hot, the sun rays seems to sting the skin.

From a discussion with a colleague about the wind, he said he had to close his window at night because the powerful wind knock down one of the rack in his room.

The wind that I was feeling lately actually blows all the way from Central Asia, can you believe it? (Central Asia shld be China rite?)

I know about the details of the wind from today's The Star article:

Northern region can expect a cooler CNY
"GEORGE TOWN: The country’s northern states are currently experiencing cooler weather, with temperatures of between two and three degrees Celsius lower than usual.

This cool weather, particularly in the evening and night, is expected to last at least another month.

A state Meteorological Department forecaster said the cooler weather was due to stronger northeasterly winds blowing in from Central Asia.

He said in the past few weeks, the temperature in the northern region had dipped to between 30 and 31°C in the day, compared with the usual 34."

Read the rest of The Star article here.

A cooler CNY is definitely welcome. Maybe in the far future, we can get a snowing CNY. With all the polution, green house effect and changes in global weather, who knows rite, it might be possible.

I miss skiing.
