Gathering, wedding and Sabah Part I
Trip report had been shorten significantly...
Warning: boring report ahead!!
The weather was cloudy on the day I reached Kota Kinabalu. I was in KK for 4D4N to attend my Uni friend of 5years + 1.5years after Uni, AhMak's wedding. According to our host it has been cloudy for the past few days and raining before that. It was Valentines' Day, Thursday on day one.
Daniel, ShinEe and I reached KK Airport Terminal 2 via AirAsia. It was about 9.30am. Also expected to reach around this time is PohTee, flying from Senai and BoonHong, flying from KL. Later in the afternoon, PoiLam, Yau and Teng will be reaching KK Airport from Penang. Mak will bring us to breakfast while waiting for PoiLam and gang to reach around 1.30pm. All of us travel via AirAsia, Now Everyone Can Fly! :)
Billy will only join us on Fri. He missed out so much fun by arriving one day later.
We were all here because we give face to AhMak
After breakfast, we pay a visit to the luxury Sutera Harbour Resort, took a walk in their nicely kept garden, along the jetty and hotel lobby.
A group photo before leaving Sutera Harbour Resort.
Not long after that, it was again time to go to the airport to fetch PoiLam and gang. Mak went to fetch them and the rest of us take a walk around town. As for Daniel and I, we went hunting for cheap diving package at the nearby Wisma Sabah. There's a number of agent in that building and we went from door to door.
Half and hour later, joined by the second batch, all 10 of us gather up in 2 cars and off we go...lunch, followed by sight-seeing in KK.
First off, we went to Muzium Sabah.
We didn't go into the museum, only tour the outside where the traditional long houses were open for visitors. There are a total of 7 cameras from 10 of us. Digital cameras have become such an affordable equipment, ain't it?
After museum, we went to UMS campus for a short tour then after that go to Yayasan Sabah to snap some pictures (if not mistaken is the highest building in Sabah).
Finally, it was time for dinner, we had our dinner in KK. After dinner, they drop Daniel and I down at the Trekkers Lodge and the rest of them go back to Mak's house in Papar. We have our own activity the next morning, so we're not joining the rest for the night. For the others, they provide a helping hand with decorations in the Foh Jiao Hui, where the blessing ceremony will be held on Sat.
It has been a long day for me, I was so tired not having enough sleep for the past few days. And had been traveling and walking around for that whole day. I had a good sleep that night...
On the second day, we find our own activities as Mak was busy managing with decorations on wedding car, seating of relatives and friends on the dinner night (who sit with who on which table), pre-order food for lunch and dinner for the few coming days and etc etc. He was one hell of a busy man. So Mak provided the rest of the gang with a jeep and they drove to KK and took a snorkeling + island hopping package.
Daniel and I pulak went diving.
We joined the other snorkeling guys in the evening after our activities and we went back to Papar together in their 4x4 jeep. More on the diving in later post
Met Billy back in Mak's home. I have not seen Billy since after graduation one and a half years ago!
That night is the night before the wedding ceremony, and is also the bachelor night! With guys like PoiLam, Yau and Billy around, they insisted on bringing Mak out to happy...but we're in Papar, small and peaceful little pekan, no pub nor disco can be found at least an hour away.
It was about 10.30pm when Mak finally free from work and we were able to go out. Fortunately, Papar is not that bad after all. We can still find karaoke, with private room. A room and a bottle of Chivas sends us singing away happily...oops...but not that happy after all. We have to get home by 12am to eat tong yun, meaning 8 of us have to finish a 1litre Chivas + 6 can of 325ml Coke in less than one and a half hours.
At 11.45pm, Mak's family called his hp to urge him back. All of us were a bit blur, not drunk but blur. With face as red as tomato, we went back to Mak's home, had our share of the tong yun and sleep! Tomorrow is the day to bring the bride home...

**Photos posted here are taken not only from my camera but a mixture of photos from Daniel, Yau, Billy, Kok Chong, Boon Hong and Poh Tee. Many thanks to all the photo contributors.
*Please let me know if you do not want your photos to be in public...I will remove them, but I'm sure you guys don't mind sharing rite? ^_^

The building is so tall that it wouldn't fit nicely in the photo
