Workplace
Of all the previous post, I've never really mention anything about work. Don't think I'm all play and no work though, I'm having tough time here. I don't want to mention about work in my blog, not while I'm in San Jose anyway.
No mention of work, but still have to tell some story on Altera HQ.
Altera HQ is located in the Silicon Valley, San Jose. Driving around the area, I notice that there are no visible border between one company to another, maybe only some low hedges. The area are planted with lots of trees in between parking spaces and between building blocks. This is what we really need in M'sia, trees!! We need shade!
All 4 buildings are linked together on the second-floor via a glass covered walkway. I'm sitting in building 3 just beside Layout Dept.
I always lost my sense of direction even if it's in Building 3 alone. The layout of the building is so symmetry that sometimes I don't know which way to head, it is really confusing.
The cafeteria here serves a variety of food, which looks so much more yummy-ier compare to Penang (I mean Penang Altera Cafeteria). There are western food (burger, steak, Greek food which i forgot wat it's called), Asian food (fried rice, ku-lou-yuk rice) and there's also one corner where you can make your own sandwich, but the price is not cheap though. One meal in the cafeteria would cost about $6 to $10.
Outside the buildings, there are a lot of trees, grass and field surrounding it.
Lately, we've been getting quite a lot of rain. When I first reached here, the taxi driver told me that in California, they only get about 3 to 4 times of rain per month. I was only here for one week plus and it had rained 2 times.

Simple and short address

This is the main entrance to the Lobby, no gate, no locked door, no fence
An overview of all the buildings around

Sth like that lar...a very very simple draft of the building plan, I removed off many things to simplify drawing :P
The rest of the empty spaces are either meeting rooms or pantry or staircase or lift....etc

Outside the cafeteria, there are tables and chairs for smokers and those who'd prefer the cool breeze instead of air-cond
The grass is always greener on the other side...
Nice trimmed grass with clean walk way
Working hour is flexible here in Altera San Jose. During lunch hour, you can see people exercising in the gym and some in sports attire jogging around the vicinity. The weather here is the best when the sun is around, which is during noon to 4pm. Other than that, I'd think it is too cold for outdoor.Nice trimmed grass with clean walk way
