HKG heading SFO

It was a long plane ride from HK to San Francisco, however, it is not difficult to pass that 12hrs 25mins. Throughout the flight, it was pure enjoyment, sitting there waiting for people to serve me with food, at the same time being able to choose my favorite entertainment from a variety of CDs, movies and dramas.

The super comfortable chair is very flexible, able to adjust to different position whether to eat or sleep + leg support.

Flexible and comfortable chair with ample leg space
After the dinner cum movie (28 Days Later), it is sleeping time. With a blanket and a pillow in hand, I slept till the next round of refreshment meal, only waking up once in a while to check on the time. I was sitting at the upper deck of B747-400, just behind the pilot cabin, meaning there was minimal distraction by the flight attendant walking to and fro, except when they serve me or the pilots.

I can see the pilots before the close and lock the door to their cabin...
Wow, look at those controls above their head...scary!!

I had Chinese dim sum for refreshment :)
(It was like having dinner at 6pm, then sleep at 9pm and waking up at 2am for supper...)

Experienced turbulence once in a while but it's still bearable...just like sitting on a bus using our very own PLUS highway.

My eyes were very tired. Anyhow, I still manage to watch Forest Gump using one eye alternately...too bad couldn't finish it before I landed in San Francisco around 4.40am (US time 1.40pm Fri). Transport had been arranged to fetch us to our hotel in San Jose. It took about 40mins drive from the airport to San Jose using the freeway. On our way to San Jose, we see stretches of mountain. The difference between the mountain here and the mountain back home is the color. The mountain here are mostly yellowish, just like a mountain of sand. It's actually dried grass as it is now spring and all the grass had dried out.

Very little green on mountain
I think I'm experiencing jet lag, as I feel super sleepy in the day time even though I sleep well the night before (Fri & Sat). I have to make sure not to sleep during the day so that I can sleep at night, if not I might have an opposite life here, sleeping at day time and waking up at night time following the time zone back home :P

I know I might sound very kampung girl with my in-flight experience, I am not born into a wealthy family and Malaysia's money is so invaluable that I was not able to buy any of the above luxury. Just imagine, working in US as a fresh grad engineer with salary US$3,000. You can afford a lot of stuff with that US$3k. A brand new Honda Civic cost only US$20k and an iPod nano 4Gb cost US$150. Compare that with a Honda Civic priced at RM110k and iPod 2Gb RM600.
Anyone wants to migrate?

Mine was a horrible experience with seat beside the emergency exit. Seat cannot recline so no good sleep at all.
