Donated at last
Last week, I have mentioned about signing up for blood donation and not sure if I will be qualify to donate. This entry is the sequel from last week's one.
I was assigned to Thu 2.30pm slot.
Went to the place, fill up form, tick NO to almost every questions in it. Waited for a while to be prick, which is the most painful of the whole blood donating process.
First counter, take weight measurement, check blood for float-or-sink behavior and check blood-type. This is the most important stage to me because it decides my donor eligibility. At first, it sink a little bit to the middle and then stayed there. The nurse said there might be a possibility that it might float up after awhile, so I waited and waited while she was busy doing the blood-type check. And then, jeng jeng jeng...my precious drop of blood sink!! Yay, I can finally donate. I happily jump to the next counter.
Second counter, take blood pressure. The friendly nurse wrap the 'thing' to my arm, it vibrates and then the number showed up at the LCD display. Not knowing how much is a normal blood pressure, I ask the nurse if I have low blood pressure and she said my reading is normal. This is another good news :)
Third counter, take souvenir (blood donor was provided with souvenir by Altera ACT) and was given 'The Book'.
It took about 5mins to fill up the 300cc packet with blood. Continue to lie there for about 10mins before going for my tea-break. Milo and curry puff were provided. I felt fine for my first donation, no dizzy or anything like that.
It is not as scary as I have imagined :P
Well, I am creative at times, making up scary images. This is one of the reason why I never watch horror movie.
I hope to continue filling up this book.
