KLIM: Let the challenge begins

After many weeks of dilemma, I finally make up my decision today. I have signed-up for the KL International Marathon, half marathon category.

From the time I learned of the event, I started looking for friends, near and far, to join me in the run. I approach people that I know are active, hoping to get at least a companion. I'm telling you, active/fit people are not easy to find nowadays, at least not in my small circle of friends. Finding one who are willing to travel all the way to KL just to torture oneself (so to speak) is even harder.

At last, I have given up hope in looking.

With that, I have to decide if I should proceed with my plan...alone. The idea of traveling alone to KL does not worry me. My concern is actually on the event day itself. As the half marathon category is schedule to start at 6.30am, I'd have to be at Dataran Merdeka when the sky is still dark. How scary or dangerous will the city of KL be at such hour? I honestly do not know.

Mum discourage me to take part seeing that there's nobody going along with me. On the other hand, AirAsia RM9 promotion encourage me. That make things neutral.

I do not know why but my inner self wanted this so much.

As a last resort, I emailed KC of KC & the Sunshine Runners. Not because I did not think of him earlier, but because I am reluctant to bug other people. It was very nice of KC to offer some help while I'm in KL. I still remember meeting him for the first time last year during Penang Bridge Marathon :)

I've got my air tickets ready, registration done, plan roughly drafted.

Now, let's bring on the challenge!!
