Super driver who is blind+deaf
This morning when I was reversing the car, some Indian guy banged into me.
This is what happen:
After I changed into Reverse, I looked back and saw that this car behind me had his reverse light ON. I wait for him to move but he didn't. So I said out aloud, "I don't care lar...I go first!" So I reversed while he's still there on the spot with his reverse light ON. Half way out (no, wait, I'm almost done reversing and was about to move forward), I saw him also start reversing his car!!! He should have been able to see me since he had his head turned back rite? But no, he kept going!! I honk and honk and honk but he's still going. And bang!! My car shook hard.
At that split second before the bang, my mind stop functioning. I just sit there in my car looking at him reversing but didn't do anything, if I'm quick enough to move forward then I might be able to save my car's butt.
He had a slow reflex. After like about 1 second delay, then only he moved the butt of his car away from the butt of my car. I was so angry at him I just felt like screaming at him as soon as I got down of the car. How stupid can a person be, having his head turned back facing my car, yet cannot see me?!!
But being in a foreign country, of course I didn't want to show the bad side of a Malaysian driver. The first thing I did was not to scream at him, but to look at my car to see if there's any dent. No dent. Since my white car is so dirty, cannot see scratches also. He said he didn't see me, AND he didn't hear me honk as well. Hello, are you blind and deaf at the same time? (I kept this to myself) He said sth like "I'm still a new driver" or "This is the first time I drive" or something similar to that, couldn't really remember what he said.
So I said since there's no damage then ok lar...N-E-V-E-R-M-I-N-D lar...
When I reach office, I take another look at the bumper and notice that there were scratches on the bumper. Quite a few of them actually. "Well", I said to my colleague, "if we were to return the car in such a dirty condition then we should be safe" :)
The car was dirty because for the past few days, it had been raining. Not heavy rain but drizzle, the dirt from the wet road some how got sticked to the lower bumper of the car making it dirty.
It wasn't a good thing to start a day, was it?
