Morning jog
Intended to wake up at 6.05am for a jog this morning but was awaken by the stupid shout of the pig-killing building beside my place at 5.46am. Went back to sleep as I'm still feeling very tired, plus, it is not my intended wake-up time yet.
When the alarm ring at 6.05, my automatic action was to snooze it. After 2 rounds of snoozing, I was finally up by 6.30.
I was running at PISA compound this morning. This is only the second time I'm here. After the first try, I like running at PISA as it is not too far from where I live. There will be people there running/walking but not too crowded. Parking is not a problem, there are plenty of parking spaces in the PISA compound. Botanical Garden is another place I like to run but it is quite a distance away, around 15 to 20mins drive. Furthermore, I found Botanical Garden more and more crowded. I think Penang is lack of big garden and park, it would be perfect if we can have something the size of Lake Gardens in KL.
So, I was in PISA this morning. Met Kevin while I was heading to my parking spot. Kevin is a new found runner friend I get to know recently. He's a regular in PISA. The first time I was in PISA, it was under Kevin's suggestion.
Started running at 7.05. This time of the year, the sun ray becomes unbearable around 7.50. I know I'm late today so I had my cap on to shield my face from the sun ray when it's up later. For the N-th time, I'm targeting 10km. It is less than a month away from SCKLM and yet, I still have not complete 10km in my training, not even once. I thought today I'm going to try hard to achieve it.
I was doing ok at first, relaxing run, feeling comfortable. At the 3rd km, I started to feel that blister again. Dang! It's that same spot. When you started feeling it, I know it wont be long before it grows more uncomfortable. And it is at that 3rd km that I know 10km will not be achievable again.
It was at the fifth round that I decided to stop. One round PISA equals 1.1km (I measured using Google Earth tools), my total distance today, 5.5km. Disppointing indeed.
I'll have to find a good way to prevent the blister before the big day (SCKLM). I've tried different stockings, thin lycra ones and thick cottom socks. None works. Next option, I'm gonna stick plaster to the spot and see if it solves the problem. Either that or buy a new insole with arch support.
