Just another day
Today's workout is swimming.
At 6pm sharp, my car was out of the company compound. As expected, traffic was pretty bad at the coastal road. The bumper-to-bumper crawl starts in front of Motorola all the way to my destination. Traffic was even worse this month due to Puasa as Muslims rush home to berbuka puasa.
When I was in front of PSDC turning left into the airport road (sorry, duno wat's the road name and lazy to Google for it), I got side by side with this fat guy in black Wira. He just won't let me into his lane. Come on! I'm not jumping queue, the road design is like that, you cannot blame me for changing into your lane, I need to turn right ma...Our car was so close that I can touch his front bonnet by just reaching my hand out the window. The traffic light turned red and I was still not able to squeeze into a proper lane causing me to stop somewhat in the middle, luckily cars on my left lane can still pass through. I need to turn right into Jln Tengah at the traffic light. After awhile, lights turned green and again my attempt to move into the turning lane failed, black Wira won't give way. Our side mirror clashed. Sigh...I think I've never met such bad driver before, someone who won't give way even if we banged into each other. If not because of the latest accident still fresh in my memory, I would have go to the max with this fat guy. I got scared rather than angry this time (definitely rare). These past 10months I have a record of highest accident involvement, surpassing my 9years of accident-free record. I wanted to enjoy my swim later and not stop by the road side negotiating if we should report police. Out of topic liao
Luckily, prevented an accident and manage to reach safely at swimming pool after 35mins.
Met Chin at the pool today. I was happy, have not been swimming together with anybody since 2years ago I think.
The swim team left late today, their training finished at 7pm. Usually they were gone by 6.30pm. They got half of the pool for training and left only the other half for the public. I had to swim cautiously and keep a lookout so as not to bang into other people. It's hard to check the front when you're swimming freestyle. Waited till the swim team were gone, we moved over to the closed lane.
Chin borrowed me her pull buoy to try. The pull buoy keeps the lower body floating, allowing for full concentration on the upper body and arms. I find it really hard to balance with the pull buoy, I couldn't swim in a straight line. I guess my butt must have been floating above the water surface, steering left and right...haha!
Chin convinced me that the way I swim is actually not too ugly (without pull buoy), I am pretty happy :) I always sense that the way I swim is funny/weird, but since I cannot see for myself, I don't know how to improve. I also got some useful advice which after trying them out, I think produce better result. Am gonna practice more in the next swim day.
In general, I think today's swim is enjoyable and rewarding.
Lost count of how many lap I actually swim.
Having a running nose now, typing this with tissue stuck to my right nose. Always happens after a swim.
