Winter approaching

Extremely busy lately...unexpected issue just came knocking on my door. Without my small boss beside me providing advice and guideline, I'm lost. It is just so scary to be without him looking over my shoulder. So what do I do? Being worried all the time is not going to solve the problem. I'm going to stay strong and take one step at a time... :)

That was on the working side.

On the personal side, I'm starting to feel the excitement. This exciting feeling came a bit too late as I've been so busy with work, I got no time to worry about it.

I'm going skiing tomorrow...

Actually, the plan to go skiing came about one and a half months ago. One of the members found a cheap skiing package on the Internet. It is a first-time adult skiing lesson suitable for beginners like us, including lesson, lift ticket and rental equipment, for only $25. According to the website, it was almost a 70% off from usual price.

I waited until the very last weekend before the skiing trip to start looking for a winter jacket, which doesn't seem to be a bad thing because I get to receive a 60% off on the Timberland jacket. I don't really like the jacket as the size wasn't really 'ngam' as it was a men size, a bit too big for me even for an S size. I look like a potato in that jacket. :P Anyway, I don't have time to look for a more suitable one, so I just grab that.

And then, for the pants I heard from experienced people saying we need to at least have a waterproof pants so that when we fall, we don't get our butt wet and frozen. Again, because I'm so busy I postpone the pants hunting until Fri, a day before our skiing day. Received an email from a colleague recommending me a place to rent skiing equipments. Can't believe I can actually rent a skiing pants.

I opt to rent instead of buy because I don't think I'll have another chance to ski for the next 5 to 10 years to come. It'll be a waste of money and storage space to buy a new one. A pair of waterproof skiing pants are not cheap, branded ones such a NorthFace or REI cost about $50 to $100 USD. I rent mine for only $10 for 3 days, and it is not a pants. It is called a snow bib, something like a pants but with 2 tie resting on your shoulders. Hrm...it was my first time hearing this term, I had to ask the guy at the counter what is a snow bib. *paiseh

Skiing equipments are included in the package, so there's no need to worry about that.

Uh Oh...got to stop here, have to catch my sleep. Will leave hotel at 2am later so that we can reach Lake Tahoe in the morning.

The 2 managers (also staying in the same hotel as I am) called this "The young generation's schedule!!" *Nah, they aren't old, just a tad bit older than me. ;)

Weather forecast for Sat at Lake Tahoe: -5 to -13 C

I'll be seeing snow tomorrow!! YAY!!
